Senior Product Manager, Hosted Runners
Verified EmployerGitLab
Job Description
As a Senior Product Manager for Hosted Runners, you will shape a core part of how GitLab users run continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workloads. Hosted Runners are the execution layer behind pipelines; this role focuses on the platform side of turning that capability into a reliable SaaS offering for GitLab.com and GitLab Dedicated.
You will report to the platform organization and work closely with engineering to define what is built, how it is brought to market, and how value is delivered to customers. This is a high-ownership role with meaningful scope. In your first year, you will drive top roadmap priorities, contribute to the GA (General Availability) for dedicated use cases, and influence pricing, packaging, and service delivery.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy: Guide the roadmap for Hosted Runners as a SaaS offering, aligning delivery to milestones and increasing adoption.
Engineering Partnership: Prioritize platform capabilities, operational requirements, and service readiness to ensure high performance and reliability.
Requirement Definition: Define technical requirements for pipeline job execution, focusing on compute, containers, and infrastructure scalability.
Commercial Strategy: Shape pricing and packaging models to connect product direction with business value and revenue growth.
Go-To-Market Support: Partner with sales and GTM teams to handle customer discovery, deal-related questions, and product positioning.
Cross-Team Alignment: Clarify ownership between the application layer of Runners and the platform layer to reduce delivery friction.
Launch Planning: Manage launch readiness for dedicated and SaaS runner experiences, ensuring releases drive immediate customer adoption.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate priorities and trade-offs across engineering, product, and commercial leadership.
What You’ll Bring
Domain Expertise: Experience with CI/CD, developer tools, build systems, or deployment platforms.
Technical Literacy: Ability to evaluate infrastructure trade-offs regarding compute, containers (Docker), and service platforms.
Ownership: Proven ability to manage a broad product scope, including strategy and cross-functional execution.
Business Acumen: Familiarity with pricing, packaging, and product choices that impact revenue.
Customer Empathy: Experience identifying customer needs and contributing to sales deals.
Remote Collaboration: Comfort working in a distributed, asynchronous environment across product and engineering functions.
