Job Description

As a Senior Data Analyst, Marketing Analytics, you'll serve as a strategic analytics partner to Marketing leadership to help shape how GitLab measures, models, and improves performance. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing Analytics, you'll take ownership of high-impact work across attribution, inbound funnel analysis, target setting, and campaign measurement.

You'll work across the full data lifecycle—from building and maintaining dbt models in Snowflake to delivering executive-ready insights. In this role, you'll use a modern AI-enabled workflow including Snowflake, Claude (with MCP connections), and the GitLab Duo Agent Platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Marketing and Developer Relations leaders, providing insights that inform strategy and product development.

  • Proactive Insights: Establish proactive insights across the Marketing function, connecting initial touchpoints to Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).

  • Impact Measurement: Measure the impact of community programs, developer advocacy, and demand generation programs (e.g., lead scoring and trial conversion analysis).

  • Data Engineering Partnership: Partner with Analytics Engineering and Data Platform teams to translate business questions into technical requirements for the analytics stack.

  • Multi-Touch Attribution: Help evolve GitLab's attribution approach, including implementing attributed metric definitions across reporting.

  • Planning & AI Workflow: Contribute to annual planning cycles and utilize AI-enabled analytics workflows (Claude, Glean, and GitLab Duo) to develop and share insights.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in a data analyst or analytics engineer role, preferably in B2B software marketing.

  • SQL & Snowflake: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience building marketing program views in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).

  • dbt & BI Tools: Hands-on experience with dbt for transformation and documentation, and proficiency in BI tools (Tableau preferred).

  • B2B Funnel Expertise: Strong understanding of funnel metrics (MQLs, SAOs, Pipeline) and multi-touch attribution analysis.

  • Platform Knowledge: Experience with marketing automation (Marketo) and CRM systems (Salesforce), including data integration patterns.

  • AI & Git Workflows: Experience with AI-assisted analytics development and familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.

  • Communication: Ability to distill complex analysis into clear narratives for senior stakeholders in a remote, async-first environment.

About the Team

The Marketing Analytics team sits within the Enterprise Data organization. We build trusted, scalable data products that create alignment between Marketing, Product, and Sales. We are a fully remote team that collaborates asynchronously using shared code review and documentation standards to support high-quality data foundations.
